Ethereal electro-folk band Dandelion Wine are bringing a special all acoustic show to the Maldon Progress Hall as part of the inaugural Goldfields Gothic festival. Setting aside the electronics and waves of guitars, they will be presenting a selection of new and old songs in an acoustic setting with a variety of stunning acoustic instruments including nine-course renaissance lute, bell cittern dulcimer and Persian frame drums, all crowned with Naomi Henderson’s ethereal vocals.
2022 marks the 20th anniversary both of Dandelion Wine’s landmark release “Light Streaming Down” and of their first international tour. Since then, the band have played clubs, castles and forests everywhere from from Tokyo to Berlin and have become a regular feature at some of Europe’s finest dark alternative and medieval festivals. Having released their latest album Le Cœur in the midst of lockdown, the band are currently working on a new album which features an even deeper exploration of the medieval elements that have been present throughout their catalogue.
Supported by Sasha Cuha, this performance is suitable for all ages.
